| This utility allows automating the use of WebWarper service with Microsoft Internet Explorer. WebWarper is a proxy-like Web service allowing to view any sites with gzip compression. As a result, it saves traffic in 2-3 times and assures anonymity while viewing pages (not while sending messages in forums, guestbooks and other web forms). Gzipping the content can accelerate access to Internet. WebWarper also provides antivirus protection by removing suspicious ActiveX from pages. The service adds advertisement to the pages. The advertisement can be turned off free of charge, but not for a long time: you will need to periodically repeat the procedure of turning off. Or you can purchase a registration code, and the advertisement will be turned off for a very long time. |

| Most web pages are plain text files formatted with HTML. And it's well-known, that text files can be easily compressed with archivers. So if you compress a page, transfer compressed file to browser and decompress - it'll take less time than transferring plain file. And good point is that modern browsers can handle compressed data! That's what webwarper does - it reads page from the address you provide, compress it and sends to your browser... And WebWarper BIM will simply modify URLs you type in address line of your browser so it points to webwarper server... |
