Replacement for Windows Desktop and shell replacement. Using Talisman, you can build any interface for your computer. Talisman hides the standard desktop of Windows. In the Talisman workspace, you can place any number of icons, buttons, pictures or other objects. These objects can have any form or dimensions. All objects can run external programs or internal shell commands. The number of forms (desktops) is not limited. Any screen object can be set to switch from one desktop to another. All settings and pictures are stored in a theme file. You can even make many Talisman-themes and use objects with links to go from one theme to another. You can also add HTML-pages (with Javascripts, Flash movies, VRML worlds) to the desktop and add sounds to different events. Other features: start/task/folder/custom menus, customizable taskbar, system tray and clock, script languge, templates, plugins. Talisman Desktop supports more 30 national languages.

Very powerful program which really widens the abilities of Windows's graphic interface. Allows you to create any number of icons and pictures of any shape and set different reactions for any of them. Customization and abilities of the program, I believe, is higher then in any other shell. I'd recommend you at least to try it! Previous versions of this program were called Bonjour.
On the HomePage there is also a special version of the program with disabled editing functions - can be extremely useful for system administrators for creating easy interface for users.On the program's homepage you can also find few "themes" for this program... |
