Might be useful to watch movies downloaded from internet and to backup DVDs or your own digital videos. DivX codec goes bundled with its sister Playa video player. Full-featured DivX Pro version installs an adware module Gator. You may remove it by buying a license for DivX Pro. There is less functional light version which comes absolutely freeware. As for decoding (viewing) there is an open-source ffdshow decoder. |
